I know a lot of people hate Jagr, but I've always liked him and LOVED him as a Ranger and I am absolutely *heartbroken* that he won't be back next year. gah. The last time I cried over a hockey player was when we traded Leetch. I'm just glad I got to see him play like a BEAST at his last game at MSG. ::cries again::

okay, seriously, do any of you really believe ckll isn't batshit insane? Because if it wasn't obvious before, I think it's pretty obvious now. I mean, dude. There are people in fandom I really dislike, and some of my friends are friends with them but, okay, whatever. Different strokes and all. But I really canNOT understand anyone who would condone her actions. I swear I won't think less of you, I just DON'T UNDERSTAND. Feel free to explain. and if you have no idea who she is, BE GLAD.

Sort of related, I sincerely hope that if any of you are ever attacked or mistreated or abused in any way - in fandom OR real life. ESPECIALLY real life - you know that it's okay to fight back. It's okay to take a stand and say, 'HEY. Do NOT treat me like that.' You don't have to just bend over and take it, I SWEAR. It is MORE than okay to call someone out publically on their douchery, especially if they have a history of it. Anyone who tells you to keep quiet, that you shouldn't stand up for yourself, is WRONG and that you shouldn't listen to them. Keeping silent doesn't make things go away, it just makes them worse.

I'm so far behind on bigbang fics that I don't think I'll ever catch up. But! I have read a few, and I want to rec two of them.

- Into His Hand, by drvsilla, which is just. GAH. AMAZING. Yes, I know she's my friend and, yes, I did the art for this, but even if neither were true, this would be one of the BEST J2 stories I've ever read. EVER. Amazing and romantic and epic and just outright gorgeous. If you don't like this story, I'll just have to assume you have no soul.

- Do I Seem Bulletproof to You?, by fleshflutter. I've been trying to read fics in order, which is one reason it's taking FOREVER, but I was told that I need to read this OMGNOW, and, oh. OH. I am so so glad that I did. yes yes, another hooker!fic, but so much more than that. This fic is utterly lovely, with how carefully but surely the relationship between Jared and Jensen comes together. The artwork for it, interspersed throughout the fic, is also beautiful.

also, I saw WALL-E over the weekend. Cutest movie about robots in love EVER? I say yes. and I say everyone should go and see it.

I'm not a big fan of The Gold Record - I'd say about half of the songs are the same-old tired and trendy pop-punk wannabe BS that's been popular for the past couple of years, nothing like the Souls I grew up with. But there are some fuckin' fantastic songs and this is by far the best of it. This is the sound I thought they were headed towards, the sound I wanted them to go for. The lyrics also just hit such a strong chord in me, too, (a lot of their songs do, which is why I alkajd;asd;akdal; LOVE THEM). Makes me all nostalgic - going to shows in Asbury Park, New Brunswick, at the Pipeline. Getting out of work at 11 on a Friday and heading straight for the shore for the weekend, sleeping in the car so we'd have more money for booze. man, I miss all that.

SIGH.

Anyways. Things to look forward to! COMIC-CON! I know there's going to be a SPN panel, and something with Joss, AND AN MST3K PANEL OMG. Plus a crapload of pros I would like to see. SO EXCITING.

One of my co-workers is working on this project which is, well. Very very cool, and I think will be of interest to many of you. He asked me do a logo/mascot for it, and I did this up real quick the other night. Showing it off because I love how it came out.

But ever since I saw a post earlier this week where someone asked, 'Since when did Wayne Gretzky turn into a lesbian?', I can't look at you. I'M SORRY. I do and I think about that line and I start laughing. I pray that I never ever EVER get the chance to meet you. It would just end up being horribly embarrassing.

Thanks to everyone for taking the FTW poll. I had thought that it was maybe a generational thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case, so now I'm wondering if it's a subculture thing. For the record, FTW will ALWAYS mean 'fuck the world' to me.
